Trip to London

Hello friends!!

I think it will be a good idea to write about the trip we made to London last Christmas, we spent there six days (from 26th to 31st December). We were a bit surprised because we arrived to London at 4pm and it was completely dark. We must confess that our first day there was a chaos, it was too dark and too cold and wet; we were looking for Charles Dickens's house for almost half an hour! But we found a couple of Italians that were in the same situation: Dickens's house is too hidden!! We went to sleep early that day...

Fortunately, the following days were much better!! I'm not going to explain every thing we did and saw because I would be here writing too much time, but I will concentrate on the must important and funny things!!

On December the 27th we saw the Big Ben, the Westminster Abbey and all the Houses of Parliament, it was really nice! We walked the Whitehall where we saw Tony Blair's house, House Guards Avenue and many other things. We also went to Trafalgar Square (beautiful place!) and finally we saw the “famous” Buckingham Palace which was much smaller than we expected.

Later that day, we walked Regent St., a street full of shops and with original Christmas lights, and we arrived to Picadilly Circus (it was exciting to be there!). We walked around it and, for Japan's fans, we discovered Japan Centre, a nice Japanese supermarket were we found a lot of interesting things! That day we also stopped at Fortnum & Mason, a luxurious and expensive shop were you can find food and drinks; we bought some delicious infusions (we recommend to you the Orchard Apple one, its really delicious!! mmm). We also recommend you to walk through Carnaby St., a small street full of shops also with nice Christmas ornaments.

The next day we saw the BBC buildings and we walked around them. We enjoyed a lot walking through Regent's Park, it was cold but really nice!! Eveything is green and you can breathe better there. It was full of football fields and squirrels! We saw the Sherlock Holmes's museum and we arrived to the Tate Modern. Later, we walked Oxford st. where we found a shop called uniqlo, where we bought some clothes; and we finally arrived to Hyde Park where we saw the Speaker's corner, the big lake full of ducks and swans, and a lot of Christmas attractions (including ice-skating!!). It was surprising that the ducks and the swans weren't afraid of people and they get near to us, we could almost touch them!!

We went to Lesotho's embassy too!! We wanted information of the documentation needed to travel to Lesotho!! It was funny!! We also went to Harrods, but it was impossible to stay there more than half an hour! It was too much full of people and we could see nothing! We visited the Trinity Church, we saw the Royal Albert Hall and some other things. We had a snack in the afternoon at a Starbucks Coffee were we met the Newcastle football players! Later, it started raining while we walked along the streets of Chelsea.

The next day, we visited the China Town and we walked and walked, we passed little Venice to arrive to the Candem Market; we spend a great time there and we bought a lot of things, but it was too much full of people!! That day we saw a lot of non too much interesting things and we went shopping. We had dinner at a Kentucky Fried Chicken where we saw something that reminded us a film or something like that, it was a girl that threw a glass full of coke on a man, we don't know what happened before but it was funny!! At night we went to the London Eye, it was so expensive but it was a nice experience!! It works too slowly, and when you are on top you have seen it all and it is a bit boring.

The last day we walked along the Thames river, we saw a 2nd World War ship and we arrived to the Tower Bridge, I thing it is a beautiful construction. We crossed it and we had breakfast at a bar, we had an English breakfast (bacon, sausage, beans, eggs, tomato, etc) an a jacket potato (a boiled potato with the chosen sauce) it was delicious!! We saw st. Paul's cathedral and some other important monuments near it (magistrate's court, mansion house, bank of England, Lloyds building, etc). It was a beautiful walk where we also saw a limousine Hummer!! We saw a lot of other things and we finished our day having dinner at an excellent Irish pub called o'Neill's pub; we had a delicious dinner with good music in life.

Finally, on December the 31st we left London. During these days, we travelled in the city by train, but this day we took a bus to go to the airport.

We recommend you to visit this city!
