Carlos Puebla. "Hasta siempre comandante" (1965)

Today, I want to speak about Carlos Puebla, a Cuban singer and guitarist. I met Carlos because one of my favourite Spanish songs is composed by him, it is called: Hasta Siempre.

Carlos Puebla (1917-1989) sang about traditional Cuban music and about people of his country, for this reason he was the best singer for the Cuban people, he has more or less a thousand of songs, like boleros, sones, anthems, guarachas, etc.. He used a serious and direct message mixed with creole humour, for example: Y en eso llegó Fidel, La OAE es cosa de risa, Yankees go home and Hasta siempre. The last song is the most popular and important around the world, dedicated to the revolutionary Ernesto Guevara (Che), composted in 1965.
