Summer holidays 2008

Hi guys!

Today, I will speak about my summer holidays.

The 20^th July, my girlfriend and I went to Monaco to spend a few days discovering this small country.

The best of this city was the nautical ports with luxury yachts, the Place du Palais zone (the main place with views to all the parts of this country), the public salt swimming-pool and the zone of the Casino.

Nevertheless, Monaco is not the city for living in, it is the typical city to see only one time.

I show you some photos of this travel. The first one was taken in the zone of the Place du Palais, the second one is the Casino and the last one is a sculpture situated in the main port.

Once we had visited Monaco we went to the north of Italy, concretely to Lecco. This city is the second city of Como Lake, the main city is Como. This lake was the best of this travel.

I recommend this lake to everybody, because it is a cheap zone, an easy to visit place, there are a lot of things to do and we spoke to people which was very nice.

Lecco is a city with sort off 50,000 inhabitants, people spend more or less one day to visit the city, the best thing you can do is walking near the lake and for the centre of the city, with a lot of shops and with typical lombardyan houses.

We spent our first day in this zone visiting this city and doing some sells; and the second day we went to an excursion by boat by the lake, it is really cheap, €25, 2 people from Lecco-Bellagio-Varenna-Bellagio-Lecco (25 km from Lecco to Bellagio).

Varenna is the best village of this lake, because there is not a lot of tourist. From this small village we can see the three parts of the lake, it has small and picturesque streets, squares, ports and other interesting things.

Bellagio is another of the important villages in the lake, but a more tourist one. You can find there a lot of shops, bars, restaurants, etc. Nevertheless there are beautiful gardens, streets and good views to the three parts of the Lake, because it is the village based in the middle of the lake.

Cannes is one of the most beautiful cities of the Côte d'Azur. If I compare this city with Monaco, I prefer the french one, because there are more things to visit and to do, more beaches, more places to eat, etc. In conclusion, more things to discover.

Is Cannes expensive? Yes, like another tourist city, but there are a lot of cheap zones.

This is a city where all people can live, because it has zones for rich people and zones for the rest of people. It has zones to relax and zones to enjoy parties 24h day.

It is not a big city, but it has the spirit of a big city, multicultural ambient. A lot of shops, restaurants and bars to meet the city.

Toulouse is the 4^th city (with 450,000 inhabitants) in France and the 2^nd campus of France. This is a students city, for this reason the apartments, restaurants, bars, etc. are not expensive. The best of this city is the river and the centre with a lot of bars and places to walk in.

The best to eat in this region is the typical “cassoulet”, the main ingredients of this meal are duck, pork and white beans. I recommend drink wine with this dish.
